Myron Pereira was born in 1945 in Bombay (now Mumbai), and joined the Jesuits, a Catholic religious order, on finishing high school. He has been a Jesuit all his life, having received his priestly ordination in 1975.
Myron Pereira is also a writer and editor. He edited two Jesuit periodicals, Jivan (1989-2001), and Jesuit Parivar (1996-2007),
and is presently is a contributor to the UCAN news service, Bangkok (2010 -). He has published Our Second Skin (1994),
Not Quite the Last Word (1998), Afterwords (2003), all writings
on communication and culture, and more recently edited an illustrated book on Jesuit history, The Early Jesuits in the Province of the North, 1548-1739 (2014).
“Fadderbaba” is his second novel, and like his first, Mission to Sabarkantha (2018), is the story of Catholic missionaries in India in times of violent change.
